GUCCI TIMEPIECES
In 1972, Gucci became one of the first fashion Houses to branch into timepieces, creating successful, iconic models that combined contemporary spirit and tradition, innovation and craftsmanship, fashion and elegance. Since that time, Gucci timepieces have been made in Switzerland, assembled at the company’s watchmaking atelier in La Chaux-de-Fonds. It is this marriage of Swiss manufacturing traditions using high quality components together with Gucci detailing and Italian flair that has enabled the brand to enjoy over 40 years of watchmaking history. Today, Gucci watches are synonymous with fine quality and they bring a fresh, innovative perspective to the watch industry.
With the launch of the 25H collection, Gucci has become one of a select group of watch manufacturers that has the technical ability to manufacture In-House movements. This automatic movement features in one of the 25H collection. The quality of this movement, will come as no surprise to many, as Gucci is owned by the Kering Group which has Ulysse Nardin and Girard-Perregaux as house mates. In fact the 25H automatic movement is made in the same facilities.
The 25H collection harks back to Gucci past, with the iconic GG Logo on the dial. The simplistic design is understated on the wrist and with a supple bracelet it is very comfortable to wear. The small link size allow for a great deal of adjustment.
The slim case and bracelet are comfortable to wear with shirts or blouses. It does not tend to get caught up in cuffs. The button is recessed into the case design under the bezel, and flush when pushed in. This again is a great a subtle addition to the craftmanship of the watch.
The dial is clear and very legible. It is definitely a watch that can be worn in most scenarios, such as low light, and still be easy to read.
The models we have so far all feature a quartz movement, the robust ETA E03.001 are completely Swiss-made, along with other premium Watch Houses, the finer details such as the materials used are also crafted and assembled in Switzerland to give it that final extra Swiss finish.
